Step in Paris most stylish basketball court !

Let's go for an unusual discovery in the Pigalle district ! Just a few metres from the famous 9th arrondissement square (and 10 minutes from our hotel by walk or bus), discover the Duperré playground, the most stylish basketball court in the capital.
When this former car park, enclosed between two buildings, was transformed into a basketball court in the early 2000s, local residents saw it as a source of noise pollution. But that was before Stephan Ashpool, creator of the Pigalle fashion label, decided to give it a second life and a new look.
Works began in 2014, using recycled rubber to dampen the noise of the players' bounces and footsteps. In 2015, in partnership with the brand Nike and the design studio ILL-Studio, Ashpool opened the new basketball court, decorated with colourful geometric patterns. The surface will then be changed in 2017, with even more colourful tones, and be replaced in 2020 with pastel tones, that we still can see now.
The result today may be obvious : the Duperré playground attracts basketball players (amateur and pro) from all over the world, curious visitors, and Instagrammers seduced by its colours to produce THE selfie that will brighten up their feed... We love its warm tones and the unusual touch it gives to the Pigalle district. Don't you ?
